Air Transat today announced that it is strengthening its overall program this year. The Montreal-based carrier resumed passenger operations on July 23rd, and it is gradually offering more services. At the height of the winter season, flights to more than 40 destinations will be in action.
According to a press release, the airline will be serving more trips to the Caribbean, Mexico, Central, and South America, the United States, Europe, and Canada. With the pandemic still at large across North America, the company is approaching its resumptions with care.

Altogether, looking at the list of flights that will resume, vacationers looking for winter sun will be happy. The destinations that the operator will fly to include:
Colombia (Cartagena)
Costa Rica (Liberia and San José)
Cuba (Cayo Coco, Cayo Largo, and Havana, Holguin, Santa Clara, and Varadero)
United States (Fort Lauderdale and New Orleans, Orlando)
Guadeloupe (Pointe-à-Pitre), Haiti (Port-au-Prince)

The locations on this list primarily have warm climates, and some of these countries are also expected to relax their restrictions in the next few months. So, Air Transat will be ready to serve sunseekers when the time comes.
However, it’s not only the Americas that Air Transat will ramp up its services to. The firm will offer direct flights to the following destinations in Europe:
Spain (Malaga)
France (Paris)
Portugal (Faro, Lisbon, Porto)
United Kingdom (Glasgow, London, and Manchester)
Canada has close links across the Atlantic Ocean. So, there will undoubtedly be several individuals on both sides of the pond that are glad about these resumptions. Air Transat is also keen to highlight its health and safety program amid the restart.
Looking forward
Air Transat COO Annick Guérard expressed her excitement of serving such key destinations. She said that there is still a demand to head for the skies despite the coronavirus struggles.
“Even though the entire tourism industry has been disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the desire to go abroad for a change of scenery and for new discoveries is still very much alive in travellers,” she said, as per the press release.
“That is why we are delighted to present them with our enhanced offer. Now, more than ever, this program of more than 40 destinations allows us to redesign our future one step at a time and to renew our mission, which is to brighten the everyday of our passengers.”
Extra support
Moreover, up until August 31st, 2020, the airline is allowing passengers that have new bookings to change their travel dates or destination (or both) at no cost. They can do this up to 24 hours before the departure time. Additionally, if there is a cancellation, customers will receive a travel credit that will be fully transferable. This voucher also has no expiry date. Therefore, during these uncertain times, travelers can have some peace of mind.
